| Hi, I'm Mikael but many call me Kazen. I havent got a Utonagan...yet. But hopeing to get a pup at some point in near(ish) future. (I'm also interested in Tamaskan dogs if anyone wants to leave a comment about them, feel free to do so ) I mainly signed up on this forum to get other (more experienced) peoples opinion on things, as I dont have any experience in having more than 1 dog at the same time. (and I have read that a Utonagan should not be on its own) So we currently got a 5 year old GSD, I would like to know if anyone has had any problems with having a Utonagan and GSD living togheter? Will the GSD give sufficient company for the Utonagan while We sleep/work? Also, I'd be interested in different peoples personal opinion on, while having 2 dogs: Female - Female, Male - Male, or Female - male. (Male - male not an option for me though, but feel free to say your point of view either way ) Thanks everyone |

| hi nice to see you. they love being with and around altypes of breeds ive got 2 utonagans along with, border collie and dalmatains, i also have all types of dogs stay from the smallest to the largest breeds, and they get on with them all. at the mo i have a tiny yorkie staying and merlin loves following him about a warning though they are a highly collectable breed so friendy/happy and loveable love training and learning new things. as well as digging holes in the garden, nicking socks, bra's and pants but then make it up to you by all the love they give you. |

| Hi, nice to see you on here. I have 2 Utonagan girlies, prior to that I had dobies with 1 Utonagan and they all got along very well indeed, I also had a retired greyhound at one time as well and everyone lived happily together, every one of them being a girlie I think that if you had a boy/girl mix you would have to have one of them neutered as well to avoid the patter of tiny paws Duke who comes on here is in America and she has a Tamaskan named Juneau, maybe pm'ing her and asking about Tamaskans would help you make your decision. |

| Juneau lives with a male pomeranian and three cats. I do wish I had another larger dog for him to romp with. We visit the dog park when ever possible and he gets along with dogs of all breeds, sizes, sexes and temperments. As far as Ute vs. Tam... Both are equally beautiful and loveable. I would go with which ever is more readily available, and which ever breeder you find to be the most truthful and trustworthy. |

| Hello Lynn, how strange I have not been on here for a few weeks, have broken my wrist, so typing awkward, and I was thinking about you a couple of weeks ago, and was wishing I had an address to contact you, came on tonight and hey presto you are here, great, its Gill from Nottingham, you will perhaps recall, referring me to Jane Mcburney? to foster her dog 'Eska' now called Mishka. She is a gem Lynn such a very loving girl, adore her and she has settled in beautifully with my two older dogs. Been trying to keep up on two forums, but also so busy with the Blue Cross foster work at the moment. By the way Awful I think I may be the eldest on here! at least I shall be come June!! Seem to be a lot of newcomers thats great as well.By the way the utes are now on Facebook have been chatting to a lady on there as well. But pleased you are on here Lynn just keep tapping away! | Hi KaZeN we have 2 ute brothers, 4yrs old next month though we only rehomed brother no 2 last year. Both are very friendly & love other dogs though our original ute is a bit more 'in your face' friendly! One of their best pals is a male gsd, another is a male malamute. As long as your gsd loves to play rough & has lots of energy you shouldn't have much of a problem with them amusing each other I wouldn't have thought. Our two still act like 6 month old pups a lot of the time but I think that's just the daft ute nature - always clowning around! They are hard work but very loving & full of character! Good luck with your choice |

 | Subject: Ute garden landscapers!! Tue Apr 14, 2009 6:48 pm | |
| Hi Kevzan? Ute's are great, and I can agree with everyone on here, these dogs have a very instinctual way of landscaping!! Before Mishka arrived my garden had loads of lawn, after she settled down(approx 3mths) I have no lawn left at the bottom of the garden, and she has chewed up and mulched a lot of small shrubs! so she can keep an eye on two dogs two gardens away(personally I think she has designs on that garden as well! She also must have several stomachs like a cow because she grazes on grass when let loose in the garden.! So if you are a gardner no chance!! But a lot of fun Gill |

| hehe thanks for the replies Im no gardener, our garden is pretty plain and boring with just rough grass all over it. Do they tend to find a favorite place where they like to dig, or anywhere and everywhere all over? I am very interested in getting one, but Its a case of "I want it ! .. but should I?" |
