To be honest Eleanor, going by your previous posts, and Geri's experience over the years, along with Utah's needs, I think it bizarre that they are wavering in the slightest, long term we all know it will be the best thing for Utah that he moves to a home more in tune with his long term welfare. If there are such massive health concerns for his owners, surely that is only going to increase as time goes on.

dont think they are wavering admin think they are just finding it hard to say goodbye. Have spoke this over with kids n hubby & they know the pain of saying goodbye so we will be here in the wings until they are ready to follow theyre hearts & let him go . I dont know how hard it will be on them as I have not done the pup bit in around 20 years so I imagine it is like saying goodbye to your child. Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad If its meant to be then its meant to be we arent going anywhere & you all have my number & Email address so when the time is right we will meet the handsome chappy Very Happy Very Happy

Yeah I understand that, but sometimes you have to put the dog's welfare and needs above your own emotional feelings, been there myself recently,it was hard but I knew it was best for him, and long term for me and my 2 girls, and I did it.

Thanks everybody for all your lovely comments, giving you a wee snippet off emails from Utahs mum and his mum to be most likely.

It is with deep regret that I have to part with him but for his sake he needs a better quality of life and we are too unfit to justify keeping him.If we love him we must let him go to a life he will enjoy.

Have looked at dog training classes & there are three in the area so that wont be a problem
Have called our Vet & have advised him that there may be a new addition to family he just laughed & said he knew I wouldnt have held out until Jan (Guess he knows me) . I know hes up to date with jags & what not but will take him down to meet out Vet who is a lovely man .

So as you can see everyone is doing their best for him.
My heart is breaking for Marg and her OH just now though as I know how much they love him, and he them, I can honestly say they are wonderful owners and I do hope they still get another small dog that is more suited to both their ailing health and not high maintance like a crazy Ute lol

So having a chat with Marg today to make arrangements.

Aw bless. It will be hard for them but it is for the best. He is such a beauty! He will have a wonderful new life with you and yours and I am sure his former owners will be able to hear how he is doing.

Best of every thing to you. Great that he has found a lovely new and loving home and good wishes to you all.

thnx all for the lovely messages of support Very Happy as you have seen our vet is on standby to meet handsome Utah . advises he has had German shepherds (yeah mine) huskies & malmuits but hasnt had a Utanagan yet so he is looking forward to meeting Utah . Doggie classes are all set up to get him socialised & the kids are so excited thay are away today with the cadets . As you can tell we are a very active home so Utah should fit in here with little problems. The only problem I have at the moment is tryimng to locate where I can buy raw feed in Scotland so if anyone know anywhere this will be much appreciated . Will update with pictures once we get him here & settled .

I have put a link in the raw feeding section of a company that will deliver in Scotland, also Natural Instincts send the stuff via parcelforce so it is there with you the next day, worth looking into as like Lyn has said it is great for people new to raw feeding as everything is done for them. Will have a look for the link to the thread on the raw section and will pop it on here, however if you are a newbie to raw then Natural Instincts will be of great help to you in the early days.
I am so so glad to hear that Utah's needs are being put first, I bet you're all soo excited about your impending arrival.
Could I ask one thing off you, and I speak from personal experience here, please keep his first family in the loop and let them have piccies and a progress report on his doings. I say this because I broke my back a few years back and I could no longer ride, my darling Isis I bred myself and had her 13 years, I rehomed her through a horse sanctuary as I couldn't bear to sell her and worry about her eventual fate in her declining years, so she went with all her tack, rugs - everything. They rehomed her, but they promised to make sure I was kept in touch with her new owners etc. nothing ever happened and I worry about her to this day, although she will be 20 now and probably no longer with us, I still miss her every day and worry that she was loved and cared for at the end of her days. Despite many phone calls from myself the sanctuary never ever let me know what had happened, all I know is that she was in Cambridge.
Can't wait for the piccies of Utah with his new family, and I know you will be able to comfort Marg and her family with the knowledge that he will be truly loved, cared for and totally adored.

will def be sending emails & piccies of his progress here & with Eleanor so that his old family can keep updated with him hope they dont mind that kids are already planning camping trip in the spring with him . Myself personally have always kept families of rescue dogs updated unless it was a cruelty case then they ppl didnt deserve to hear how great they're unwanted dog was. Kids just back from remeberance parade so have told them i need house clean for friday (Great housework done for me this week ) well hubby going to our butcher on friday to find out what he can get me Very Happy so should be already for Utahs whirlwind arrival xxx
