Gaynor has just text me to say their new website is up, complete with piccies of the Norties, here is a link to it

    http://www.kearsleykennelsandcattery.co.uk/

They are quite happy to take raw feeders, you just make their meals up, freeze them, label them, and they put them in their freezer. They also carry a vast stock of commerical food, they sell shavings, straw and haylage as well!!!

The girls look happy there, must put your mind at rest.
It's good that the kennels can accommodate raw feeding, wish ours did. Rates are cheaper than ours too.

Well it could well be worth a drive over if you are thinking of doing a booking for 2 weeks or something?? My 2 adore Gaynor and Steve, and all the staff as well, if I have one in season and am going training I can leave her with Gaynor and pick her up later and she has never charged me for it either, which I think is over and above the call of duty. Very Happy

If we weren't quite so far away I would be tempted. Suppose if we were flying from an airport closeby it would make sense - would that be Manchester?
We're actually away again in March (Lanzarote for OH's 50th) but the dogs are staying at home with our son. Will certainly consider it for the future if we can fit it into our plans. Very Happy

Manchester airport is about half an hour away, the motorway is 2 mins from the kennels, and I am up the road, so you could always park your car outside mine and get a taxi to the airport.

Not far at all then. Thanks for the offer Admin, will certainly bear it in mind for future trips & I'm sure the boys would love a romp with your girls. There is usually more choice from Manchester anyway. Very Happy

AAh ! the poor wee lads - they will be very lucky if they escape with their tackle entire !! That Cariad is one MAN eater !! My poor Hal never quite recovered after his amorous adventures with that young Madam !!

He slept for about a week when we got back home !! He had a permanent grin on his face for days !! I suspect Cariad was bow-legged for weeks !! Ah, I remember that feeling well !! Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

looking at the photos there are loose dogs in an enclosure. Do they allow boarders to run off-lead in there? Just we haven't found one up here that does off-lead exercise so the boys are mental when they come home. We used some new kennels last minute in March & the boys were fine, large 'family' kennels with good sized run, own food catered for etc but they do not allow the dogs off-lead at all. He told me he does use an extending lead when out so the dogs can sniff/ explore a bit Shocked. Rather him than me!
Do any ute/similar owners offer boarding does anyone know?

They do get regular walks but these are on-lead, because of dogs maybe making a break for freedom and then getting lost!!! However they do have the yard where the dogs get free play, they let them out in batches as to who gets on with whom, and the day boarders are shut away whilst this happens. Mine are always bouncy when they come back, but from what I can gather lots of kennels don't take them out AT ALL Shocked Shocked
They go off lead on the walk back home and soon get rid of their pent up energies chasing rabbits Very Happy

Quite a lot of them do now apparently, something to do with insurance issues.....
There is one near to me where I sent my 2 once, and they came back smelling poo Sad and then Steve and Gaynor told me they were never taken out at that one, it is miles more expensive as well.

Just come back from dropping girlies tv dinners off, and I asked about the free exercise in the yard. They let them out to play 3 or 4 times a day depending on weather etc. and they get walked as well.

    That sounds great Very Happy
Do the kennels also have an attached run that the dogs have access to most of the day?
We know a local dog walker who has day boarders too but the boys would be home alone overnight. Something to consider I suppose, probably a lot more expensive though.
The last place they stayed also takes rescue dogs for several charities so has a lot of visitors. Apparently the boys were a big hit, drew a lot of attention, think I could have rehomed them several times over Laughing

They have a sleeping area and then another area, as they go on a good walk every day, and get free running 2 or 3 times a day they don't have runs as such. The place is spotless, I have never ever seen any mess in any of the kennels at any of the times I have been there
