Okay thought I would share the type of Ute's there are and their colourings. I shall put The Utonagan Breed Registry Standard up too! I will start with the now and work back. You will have to bare with me as it will probably be over a couple of days as I need to go through a massive mountain of pic's to find the ones I want lol!
To start off, here is a few pics [and I have cut it down to just the dogs] of mainly Rough coats. !st is Tai[male] and Mia[female] together. To the experienced you can deffinately see they are opposite sex's and simalar in type etc They are termed as wolf grey in colour.

Ute show dog types and DSC_0042-1-1-1-1

The next few are of wolf grey double coats[short and thick haired] the females being first some grey's are of a lighter brownie tone and to us are known as the Timber wolf grey but still come under the term grey. The following bitches are all diffrent dogs[ute's]

And here are some pic's for you to see of two or more together, I have been governed by permissions given as to what ones I can put up but believe me there are loads.

Thankyou Rob, you are most welcome, on this site I leave the pic's so that folks can copy paste them for their personal reffrence. I like to think that because I am always open and honest with this breed that others will follow my example and be open too but then I am known as an idealist lol! As you go along you will find much cloak and dagger stuff but then you will know that already with your folks being in the dog world lol!

They are all beautiful Lyn, but to me your old Tim shines like a star above them all. His coat and tail are the true wolf coat and tail ... beautiful. I am heartbroken that I never met him.

And here are some r/coat greys. Some youngsters can appear red but I can tell you that when a mature adult they will be a T.W grey as very seldom do they remain red [I will show you some examples of this a little later]. Females first then the males.

And now the Boys, please remember that in these pics a lot of them will be at diffrent ages and stages and coats depends on seasons of the year. I have never known a breed of dog who is so cameleon[I think I have spelt that wrong lol!] like in the way they can change with the seasons and maturity.

Haha!! I can lolI am sure June will not mind me saying this but when Meloner had her pups June rang me up to say she had pups the same colour as mum, anyway she sent me pictures of the gorgeous pups and I could immediately see that the black look alike meloners were going to be wolf grey but then I have had the experience lol! Ask Joyce about Masks colour and what colour I told her he would be. It is funny when you tell owners because you know they are finding it hard to believe, but I must add that I always say the word SHOULD be, no room for complacency lol!

The Ink Marked ones are the best for changing Rob, I might get them done today as it is beating down with rain here so cannot do much outside. Inkie pups as we call them start off with markings or not as the case maybe and the ones with markings can sometime lead to them emergeing into bigger ones[ a bit like dot to dot puzzles] and the ones who are born white often have markings or gingery points and when really old can go completly apricot like my Hanuka. However as a breeder that tells me that they are carrying red and red is a dilutent of black hence when Hanuka was put tp Bleddyn she had a complete litter of b/silvers but everyone else thought she would have Inkies or whites. I absolutely adore this breed, can you tell Laughing Laughing Laughing lol!

just a lot Very Happy it does make sense what your saying though, taking the adults colours into consideration, must take a lot of experience to be able to call it though, especially at a young age

    Not at all.

He was protein intolerant. To much protein changed his behaviour, he was the dog from hell Ute show dog types and Icon_evil Ute show dog types and Icon_evil & I mean the dog from hell, I wanted to kill him!! Infact he nearly went back to his breeder! till we found out what the problem was after a few weeks on a low level protein diet being no more then 15% protein he was a completely changed dog. Giving us the Storm we have today. He is now a very sweet loving biddable lad. There aren't enought words to discribe Storm & his perfect nature,(now) but I'm sure June will back me up Ute show dog types and Icon_biggrin
