You know, I would much rather have an older dog if given the chance, I have, in the past, taken on older dogs and they have lived their lives out with me with no problems at all, yes there is always a bit of a fracas when you introduce an older dog into an existing pack, but it is usually sorted within a few days and I have never had an occasion where the newcomer has had to go back. I think puppies are extremely hard work for the first year, and I have just had more or less most of Blaidd's first year so can speak from recent experience, with a one year old child, this lady is going to find her work cut out, and I really hope the puppy that she gets doesnt suffer the consequences. No idea if the lady has experience of dogs though, she may be very experienced for all I know and it will be easy peasy for her. Given the chance of a well behaved, reasonably well mannered (jumping on the table or going upstairs to the bedrooms is something that I would not be happy with) dog or a puppy where you are going to have to go to puppy classes and lets face it, toilet train with a baby crawling about, I would be going for the young adult every time!!!!
It looks like, between us all, we are going to be able to find this girl a permanent place, and that can only be good news.
